Socially Not Disturbed

A Mobile Series focuses on the eternal struggle of established values and traditions being challenged by new ways of thinking, communicating and socializing. Frankie, the manager of a popular Italian café, strikes up an unlikely friendship with Alessia, the daughter of part-owner, Bruno – a laid-back, good-natured man who is constantly treated as a doormat by his belligerent brother, Carlo, and his very own wife, Gabriella. Alessia is struggling to find herself in the midst of being trapped in her family’s strict Italian ways. This frustration leads her to develop a close bond with Frankie, who is several years her senior. If her family discovered the amount of time and the level of conversation the two are engaged in, there would be serious consequences for the both of them. Both are acutely aware of this dilemma, but too drawn to each other to resist giving up their blossoming relationship.

As a result, they find other ways to communicate freely, discreetly and away from prying eyes. The solution happens to be in the palms of their hands — Their smartphones, prove to be an invaluable tool with which to communicate unreservedly, enabling their friendship to grow. A modern solution used to circumvent outdated values, their mobile devices become the key to their relationship. You have no choice when life decides to make things complicated.
