Guido Cocomello

Frankie the Café Manager

Guido Cocomello is a trilingual professional comedian and actor performing in English, French, and Italian. In just a few short years Guido has already made his mark on the comedy scene. His fast paced, casual, and accessible style of comedic storytelling has made him very popular with fans across the globe.

Guido began his path toward entertainment during his time studying theatre at New Actors Workshop in New York City, New York under Mike Nichols, Academy Award-winning director of The Graduate. While studying in NYC he also took the time to perform in numerous off-Broadway plays and was also a member of a weekly improvisation show.

Upon returning to his home town of Montreal, he started a very successful sketch comedy group SnapTV, which regularly performed to packed houses all over the city. Shortly afterward he began performing as a stand-up artist and has never looked back. Cocomello recently starred in The St. Leonard Chronicles, the latest play from Montreal playwright Steve Galluccio (MAMBO ITALIANO, FUNKY TOWN), which opened at Montreal’s Centaur Theatre on October 1, 2013 and was extended all the way to December 8 due to popular demand.

To date, the actor has performed in five plays at the Centaur Theatre, with all of his roles penned by Steve Galluccio and fellow Montrealer Vittorio Rossi. In addition to his stand-up performances, Guido has also made many appearances in both film and commercials and is scheduled to debut his one-man show this summer in Rome, Italy. And in 2015 cocomello appeared in a Montreal play penned by TONY CALABRETTA “Don’t Blame it On The Stork”

Bruno: Father of Alessia and brother of Carlo

Guido Grasso Jr. is a Canadian actor born in Montreal, Quebec. With his natural charm and affinity for making people laugh, Guido discovered his love for the stage early on in life, participating in most of his high school’s theater productions.

In 1998, Guido landed his first role in the feature Bonanno: A Godfather Story, in which he played lead actor Martin Landau’s sidekick, the young Peter Maggadino. After completing Bonanno. Guido headed to New York to sharpen his craft, studying at both the Neighborhood Playhouse and The New Actor’s Workshop with Mike Nichols, Paul Sills and George Morrison.

Since then, Guido has appeared in various film and television spots including 2 episodes of Curb Your Enthusiasm where he appeared in scenes with Larry David and the venerable Martin Scorsese.

Guido appeared in various films and television spots. In 2012, he was seen in the feature film Mirror Mirror starring Julia Roberts. In 2013, he appeared in the film Nicky Deuce with some cast members of The Sopranos (James Gandolfini, Michael Imperioli, Tony Sirico, Vincent Curatola and Steve Schirippa).

He also appeared in a Robert Zemeckis film called “THE WALK” starring Joseph Gordon Levitt. Ironically enough his lines were Hiya Doin

Grasso was the opening act for “Joe Avati” Comedian Back to Basics 2012 Canada wide tour.

Audiences delight in his unique observational brand of intelligent humor combined with self deprecating overtones. Guido loves hand tossing pizza and is fluent in English, French and Italian.

Nadia Verucci

Gabriella: Mother of Alessia and wife of Bruno

Nadia Verucci is an actor, singer, director and choreographer, and the Artistic Director of In Your Face Entertainment. As a theatre actor, Nadia has appeared onstage with Centaur Theatre (Carmela’s Table); The Segal Centre (The Jazz Singer); Persephone Productions (Be My Baby); HMC (42nd Street) and Village Scene Productions (Equus), among others.

Film and television credits include Mirror, Mirror; Being Human; Pas de Trois and Sophie. Nadia has also leant her voice to episodes of Arthur, Mona the Vampire, A Miss Mallard Mystery and the Assassin’s Creed video game series.

As a choreographer and director, she has worked with various companies, including Lakeshore Light Opera, McGill Savoy Society, VSP, Dames in Disdres Burlesque and The Dukes of Drag.

Nadia’s own theatre company is in its third season of producing both musical and children’s theatre, with the latest production, Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris, recently earning two META award nominations with one win.

Massimo

Carlo: Alessia’s uncle, brother of Bruno & Café Owner

Massimo’s performance is a blend of overblown confidence with a touching vulnerability, packed into highly amusing personal anecdotes. Massimo is all
about making a personal connection with the audience through his unique style of storytelling. One reviewer described him as “both physical and cerebral” and the Montreal Gazette said “Massimo is, without question, destined for the bigs.”

This Montreal native has performed around the globe in cities like London, England; Adelaide, Australia; and Edinburgh; Scotland. He has also performed in numerous comedy festivals including the world renowned Montreal Just for Laughs Festival. He has appeared in the festival three times including the 2012 and 2011 editions.

His television appearances include The Comedy Network’s “Great Canadian Laugh Off ”, Bite TV’s “Stand Up and Bite Me” and he was featured in the last season of Spike TV’s comedy series Blue Mountain State.

Massimo comes across as a charming and charismatic comic with unadulterated loveliness at the very heart of his show” – Barrie Morgan, The Skinny.

Brett Watson

Jason: Frankie’s Best Friend

Brett Watson is a Montreal-born actor who works regularly in film, television and theatre. He is known for the films Shattered Glass (2003), Taking Lives (2004) and I’m Not There (2007).

As a graduate from The Ryerson Theatre School, Brett has performed in over two dozen theatre productions across Canada, including Bacchae, Elizabeth Rex, Teaching Hamlet, Sexy Beton, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, The Importance of Being Earnest, Loot, and Romeo & Juliet.

He is also known for his roles on the TV shows Being Human and Dead Zone. In 2013 alone, Brett has appeared in the TV movies, The Perfect Boss and The Husband She Met Online.

Lisa Palmieri

BIANCA character

Lisa Palmieri is an actress, singer and dancer. After having completed her Bachelors degree in Communication Studies, she moved to New York City to study Theatre at the Tom Todoroff Conservatory. During this time she perfected her talents in musical theatre, film acting and dance. She has recently returned to Montreal and has worked on several projects notably a commercial for the Lac Leamy Casino featuring Gregory Charles. Lisa is currently part of the Just For Laughs production of Mary Poppins- the largest musical ever produced by Just For Laughs Theatricals and the very first French adaptation worldwide.
